You may have seen the new report on TV of these mystery Santa's paying it forward at Kmart by paying people's layaway bills for them or paying for someones gas behind them and you probably see this more often now that the holidays are here. I for one love hearing these things and getting new ideas for paying it forward so I thought I would make a list of ideas to share and hope others can share their ideas as well! And remember it's the children and elderly that need the most help.
- pay off a random layaway
- pay for someone's gas behind you
- leave quarters in all the gum ball machines at the store
- pay the person's movie rental that is behind you
- At the drive thru pay for the car's order behind you
- If traveling pay the toll booth for you and the next vehicle
- Get a gift card or movie tickets and randomly hand them out to people that are helpful throughout the day
- Send some hot coffee or cocoa to your local firefighters or law enforcement while they are working to keep us safe
on a holiday
- Let someone cut in front of you at the grocery store (even if they have more than you)
- Volunteer at your local homeless shelter, soup kitchen, toys for tots, salvation army, or battered women's shelter
- Visit an elderly home for Christmas and hand out candy canes
- offer free babysitting to a single parent
- Give blood
- Lend money to someone on kiva.com
- Visit children in the hospital and bring them a stuffed animal or coloring book(if it's Halloween reverse trick or
treat them by giving them candy)
- Tape exact change to a soda machine
- Collect food from friends and family and take to your local food pantry or soup kitchen (can also collect money if
they can spare any pantries get discounts when buying food that we don't)
- Make cookies with the elderly they will enjoy someone spending time with them and the treat afterwards
- Hold a Teddybear drive and take them to the local fire department or Sheriff's office for traumatized children
